How to report a bug

Good bug reports get fixed faster. The in-app reporter collects the details for you; here is what it sends and what to add.

1

Use the in-app reporter

Open Settings → About → Report a bug. Pick a severity, describe what happened, and optionally attach a screenshot of up to 5 MB and your email for a reply. With Include diagnostic data on, the report adds your Windows and Maxisnap versions, display setup, recent log lines, and the last actions in the app, with passwords, keys, and usernames redacted. You get a reference ID when it is sent.

If Maxisnap crashes, it offers to send a report with the crash details already filled in.

2

Or email us

Send your report to support@maxisnap.com and include:

  • What you were doing when the issue occurred
  • What you expected to happen
  • What actually happened
  • Your Windows version and Maxisnap version (shown in Settings → About)
  • A screenshot or a short recording of the problem if you can

Common issues and quick fixes

A hotkey does nothing

Another app may own the same combination. Open Settings, then Hotkeys: Maxisnap shows a warning for any conflict and suggests alternatives. Also check that Maxisnap is running in the system tray.

The editor window is missing

It can open behind another window. Press Alt+Tab, or take the capture again; an empty editor is reused rather than stacked.

An upload failed

Check your connection and the active destination under Settings, then Upload. Custom servers have a Test connection button. The capture stays open in the editor so you can retry.

A recording has no sound

Open Settings, then Video, and check that system audio or the microphone is enabled and the right microphone is selected. Recording continues without a source that fails, so check the tray message after you start.

Scrolling capture stopped early

The page had a repeating layout and Maxisnap could not find a safe seam. Scroll back one step and continue more slowly, or switch to manual mode.
