Accessibility at Maxisnap
Last reviewed: August 6, 2026
Maxisnap is a screenshot tool, and a screenshot tool is only useful if people can actually reach it. We want maxisnap.com to work for everyone who lands on it — including people using a keyboard only, a screen reader, browser zoom, or a high-contrast mode.
Our target is WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which is the standard referenced by both the Americans with Disabilities Act guidance in the US and EN 301 549 under the European Accessibility Act. We are a small team and we are not going to claim we have finished. This page says plainly what is in place, what we know still needs work, and how to tell us when we have got something wrong.
What's in place today
- Keyboard navigation. Every page starts with a "Skip to main content" link, and interactive elements are reachable and operable by keyboard.
- Visible focus. Focused links, buttons and form fields show a visible focus indicator, so you can always see where you are.
- Semantic structure. Pages use real headings, lists, tables and landmarks rather than styled
divs, so screen readers and reader modes can navigate them. - Correct language on every page. Each of our 15 languages sets its own
langattribute, and Arabic is served right-to-left with mirrored layout rather than a patched-on override. - Text you can resize. Type and spacing use relative units, so browser zoom and larger default font sizes reflow the page instead of clipping it.
- Stable layout. Fonts are served from our own origin with dimensions reserved, so content does not jump around while the page loads.
- Respect for reduced motion. Where we animate anything, it is decorative and kept subtle.
- No accessibility overlay. We deliberately do not use one. Overlay widgets do not make a site accessible and often make screen-reader behaviour worse; we would rather fix the markup.
What we know needs work
Being straight about this is more useful than a compliance badge:
- We have not yet completed a full independent WCAG 2.1 AA audit of every page. Our checks so far have been internal.
- Some comparison tables are wide and scroll horizontally on small screens. They are marked up as real tables with proper headers, but a very long row can still be awkward to read on a phone.
- A few colour pairings in secondary text and on decorative panels are close to the 4.5:1 contrast minimum rather than comfortably past it.
- Product demonstration images do not yet have long descriptions. The surrounding text explains what each one shows, but a dedicated description would be better.
These are on our list. If one of them is blocking you specifically, tell us and it moves up.
The Maxisnap desktop app
This page is about the website. The Windows application is a separate matter, and we want to be honest about it: it is a capture tool built around global keyboard shortcuts, which helps, but we have not formally assessed the annotation editor against WCAG or with assistive technology. Every hotkey is remappable in Settings, which is the accessibility feature people ask about most often. If you use assistive technology and want to use Maxisnap, please get in touch — we would genuinely like to hear what does and does not work.
Telling us about a barrier
If something on this site is hard or impossible to use, email support@maxisnap.com with the page address and what went wrong. You do not need to know the technical name for the problem — "the menu doesn't work with my keyboard" is a perfect report.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within two business days and to tell you either when we have fixed it or, if it will take longer, what the plan is. If you need information from a page you cannot use, say so and we will send you the content in another format.
