No catch. Free gives you every capture mode, every annotation tool, local copy, and local save without an account. Cloud sharing requires an account; a free account includes 500 lifetime image uploads and 100 MB of lifetime video uploads. Pro adds unlimited Cloud sharing, ad-free share pages, longer retention, private images, and deeper analytics.
Pro is offered as a single $18 annual plan; there is no monthly billing option. If you do not want an annual Cloud plan, stay on Free or add Studio once for configurable uploads to infrastructure you control.
Two things. First: "Add Your Own Server" inside the desktop app — unlimited SFTP, FTP, S3, R2, and HTTP POST destinations. Second: a
dashboard.zip you download, drop into any cPanel public_html/dashboard folder, and instantly have your own self-hosted Maxisnap image library with the same gorgeous GUI as maxisnap.com/dashboard. The app includes an ELI5 setup wizard that walks you through pointing Maxisnap at your self-host URL.
Yes. Studio is an add-on, not a tier replacement. You can pair it with Free ($20 total, one-time) if you want your own server and your own dashboard without needing Maxisnap Cloud uploads. Or pair it with Pro for the full stack — Cloud uploads, ad-free share pages, and self-hosted server plus dashboard.
One-time. $20 once, lifetime access, no renewal, no auto-charge. You'll get updates to the self-host package for as long as Maxisnap exists. If you later add Pro on top, that Pro portion is the only subscription you're paying.
All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and PayPal, via Stripe. Studio and Pro purchases are processed on secure hosted checkout pages — we never see your card details.
Everything saved to disk stays yours — those files never left your computer. Maxisnap Cloud uploads remain accessible for 30 days after downgrade, giving you time to export. If you had Studio active, your self-hosted dashboard and own-server uploads are on your infrastructure and are not affected by Pro cancellation.
