Is Free really free? What's the catch?
No catch. Free gives you every capture mode including scrolling capture, screen recording with audio, all 12 annotation tools, on-device OCR, AI Mode export, local copy, and local save without an account. Cloud sharing requires an account; a free account keeps up to 50 active captures and 500 MB of storage (100 MB of it video, any length), with links live for 30 days. Pro and Pro Plus add much more storage, bigger videos, ad-free share pages, links kept while subscribed, private links, and deeper analytics.
What's the difference between Pro and Pro Plus?
Same features — the difference is room. Pro ($18/year) gives you 10 GB of Cloud storage and videos up to 1 GB. Pro Plus ($59/year) gives you 50 GB and videos up to 5 GB. Both are ad-free with private links, view analytics, and links kept while you're subscribed. Pick Pro Plus if you share lots of long recordings; otherwise Pro is plenty.
Why is Pro annual-only with no monthly option?
Pro is offered as a single $18 annual plan; there is no monthly billing option. If you do not want an annual Cloud plan, stay on Free or add Studio once for configurable uploads to infrastructure you control.
What exactly does Maxisnap Studio unlock?
Two things. First: "Add Your Own Server" inside the desktop app — your own SFTP, FTP, S3, R2, and HTTP POST destinations. Second: a self-hosted dashboard bundle you download, upload to any PHP web host such as cPanel, Plesk, or a VPS, and set up once in the browser. It gives you a searchable library with tags, favourites, and video playback, branded share pages on your own domain, and public, team-only, or password access per capture. A setup wizard in the app then points Maxisnap at your dashboard and tests the connection.
Can I buy Studio without Pro?
Yes. Studio is an add-on, not a tier replacement. You can pair it with Free ($29 total, one-time) if you want your own server and your own dashboard without needing Maxisnap Cloud uploads. Or pair it with Pro or Pro Plus for the full stack — Cloud uploads, ad-free share pages, and self-hosted server plus dashboard.
Is Studio really a one-time payment, or does it auto-renew?
One-time. $29 once, no renewal, no auto-charge. Updates to the dashboard bundle are included. If you later add Pro or Pro Plus on top, that subscription is the only recurring charge.
What payment methods do you accept?
Stripe-hosted Checkout shows the payment methods available for your location and transaction, which can include major credit and debit cards and eligible local methods. We never see your sensitive payment credentials.
What happens to my screenshots if I cancel Pro?
Everything saved to disk stays yours — those files never left your computer. Your Cloud uploads stay available through the end of your paid period; after that your account returns to the Free plan and its limits apply, so export anything you want to keep. If you had Studio active, your self-hosted dashboard and own-server uploads are on your infrastructure and are not affected.
