Where do the screenshots actually go?
Check the app’s configured save folder and the shortcut you used. In Windows 11, Snipping Tool automatically saves a snip to your Screenshots folder; you can change that in its Settings. What can I try if Win+Shift+S does not respond?

Can I keep my Win+Shift+S muscle memory with Maxisnap?
Maxisnap's default hotkeys are Ctrl+Alt+5 for region, Ctrl+Alt+6 for full screen, and Ctrl+Alt+7 for region plus auto-upload — and every one of them is remappable in Settings → Hotkeys. Win+Shift+S remains bound to Windows, so the two tools can coexist while you transition.
Can the Snipping Tool blur sensitive information?
In Windows 11, Snipping Tool's Text actions can quick-redact email addresses and phone numbers in a snip. Maxisnap includes a one-key blur and pixelate tool that works on any region you drag over.
Does either tool do scrolling capture?
