Does Flameshot work on Windows?
A port exists but has historically been less stable than the Linux original. Hotkey capture on non-US layouts, multi-monitor DPI scaling, and upload reliability are the usual pain points.
Why is Flameshot unstable on Windows?
The core is a Qt C++ codebase with Linux assumptions. Bridging X11/Wayland patterns to Win32 APIs introduces edge-case mismatches that a Linux-first project deprioritizes.
Does Flameshot support scrolling capture?
Maxisnap v2.4.2 does not include native scrolling capture. Check each tool's current documentation if this feature is essential to your workflow.
Is Flameshot's SFTP upload working?
Not as a core feature. Community patches exist but rotate. Maxisnap's SFTP is core — RSA, Ed25519, ECDSA, with v1.8.2's connection-leak fix for reliable error handling.
What's the best Linux-style tool on Windows?
